PRESENTATION OF THE NEW CHRISTMAS BOOK “UN COQUÍ DE BORIQUÉN CON LOS REYES A BELÉN”

SAN JUAN - On Sunday, November 11, at The Bookmark bookstore in San Patricio, the Christmas premiere "Un Coquí de Boriquén con los Reyes a Belén" will be presented. The presentation, scheduled for two in the afternoon , will be led by Silverio Pérez and will include the participation of the authors, Lara Mercado and Armando Valdés, as well as Nívea Ortiz , illustrator of the children's story.

The story tells how the Three Wise Men were led to Bethlehem by a Puerto Rican girl and the song of her coquí. The book, which seeks to promote a new Christmas tradition for Puerto Rican children around the world, includes an English translation and can be accompanied by a small stuffed animal of a coquí.

This project, the first publication of Lilac Publishing, seeks to contribute to the preservation and celebration of the Three Kings tradition for Puerto Rican children on the island and in the diaspora. It is also a tool for Puerto Rican parents in the diaspora that helps them explain the tradition of the Three Kings to their little ones even when other children in their circle of friends do not know about it or do not celebrate it.
